  • At SK8 Georgian Bay, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of skating excellence. With over 40 years of coaching experience, Jan Hulme brings unmatched passion, knowledge, and expertise to developing skaters of all ages, levels, and disciplines—making SK8 Georgian Bay a premier destination for athletes looking to elevate their skating skills.

Our core focus is mastering fundamental skating techniques that enhance overall performance. Training emphasizes balance, power, agility, speed, and endurance through progressive and advanced skating methods.

Classes provide a comprehensive on-ice training experience, typically lasting 50 to 80 minutes. Each session follows a structured progression:

    • Stationary warm-up

    • Slow on-ice warm-up

    • Skill review

    • Introduction and development of new skating techniques

This thoughtfully designed curriculum ensures skaters continually build, refine, and strengthen their skills to gain a competitive edge for the upcoming season.

Progress through our six-level program varies depending on age, ability, and commitment. Motivated skaters who consistently apply themselves may advance more quickly. The program is designed to build a strong technical foundation, preparing skaters for success at all levels of hockey.

Throughout the program, SK8 Georgian Bay instructors provide ongoing guidance, encouragement, and feedback, ensuring every skater is supported in reaching their full potential.
