  • At SK8 Georgian Bay, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of skating excellence. With over 40 years of coaching experience, Jan Hulme brings unparalleled passion, knowledge, and leadership to the iceβ€”making SK8 Georgian Bay a trusted destination for skaters of all ages and disciplines who want to elevate their skating skills.

    Our Philosophy

Our core focus is mastering fundamental skating techniques that enhance overall performance. We emphasize:

    • Balance

    • Power

    • Agility

    • Speed

    • Endurance

Through advanced skating methods and structured progression, skaters develop strong, efficient movement that transfers directly into hockey and competitive play.

    Program Structure

Classes typically run 50 to 80 minutes and follow a carefully designed training format:

    • Stationary warm-up

    • Slow skating warm-up

    • Skill review

    • Introduction and development of new skating techniques

Each session builds upon the last, ensuring consistent improvement while reinforcing proper mechanics. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to prepare skaters with the skills and confidence needed for the upcoming season.

    Skill Progression & Development

The time required to complete our six-level program varies depending on age, ability, and commitment. Motivated skaters who consistently apply instruction may progress more quickly. Regardless of pace, our goal is to develop a strong skating foundation that supports long-term success at all levels of hockey.

Throughout the program, SK8 Georgian Bay instructors provide continuous feedback, encouragement, and individualized guidance, helping every skater reach their full potential in a positive, high-performance environment.
