Jan has over 30 years of coaching and is the owner of SK8 Georgian Bay skating school. Her vision… to skate and be free with a dream.
Has been involved in figure skating in the Georgian triangle since the age of ten. A Collingwood boy at heart, he competed at the national level with partners Carol Wheeler and Andrea Derby. Michael has been coaching for 25 years now and is quite excited to be a part of SK8 Georgian Bay.
Jason has been skating since the age of 4. Jason is an ISPC and Level 3 theory certified skating coach. He has 23 years of coaching experience. Jason specializes in skating, jumping and spinning techniques. He has his Gold Medal in Freeskate and Dance. Jason skated competitively out of Mariposa Skating School under Doug Leigh and out of the Granite Club with Louis Stong. He had instruction from many of top coaches including Neil Carpenter, Donald Jackson, Sandra Bezic and Osborne Colson. He competed nationally in Canada from 1980 to 1988. Jason spent 8 years skating professionally for Disney on Ice. Jason believes that although hard work is necessary for success, his focus includes having fun too. A happy skater is going to want to excel more than an unhappy one. Jason also owns a skate sharpening company.
Diane Hall Colley
For the past 30 years, Diane has enjoyed coaching skaters of all ages, from the basic fundamentals to the advanced levels of Skate Canada’s Star Skate program. At the amateur level, Diane proudly represented the 1971 Canadian World Team, where she placed 5th at North Americans in Peterborough, ON and 16th at Worlds in Lyon, France. Diane currently coaches in Collingwood.
Adrienne has been involved in skating since the young age of 5 where she skating locally before moving her training to Barrie for a more competitive structure. She trained at the Mariposa National Training Center under the coaching of Doug Leigh and his amazing team. She now lives in Barrie with her husband James and their 3 young boys. Adrienne is an ISPC certified skating coach and her friendly enthusiastic personality makes her a perfect choice for skaters at any level. Her passion for photography has recently developed into a business allowing her to even further showcase her creativity and fun nature.
James was born and raised on Lake of the Woods in Kenora Ontario and now lives in Barrie with his wife Adrienne and three boys. He was a six time national ice dance competitor. James returns to the club in his 23rd year as a coach. James provides club dance coaching on a regular basis as well as freelance lessons.
Tracey was awarded the 2011 and 2012 Skate Canada Club and Recreational Coach of Excellence. In 2012 she was selected to the CanSkate Resource Team for Skate Canada. Tracey is in her 28th season of coaching. She is Level 3 Certified; Special Olympics National level coach and coaches all levels from PreCan to Gold StarSkate both at the recreational and competitive levels. She is a quadruple Gold medalist in Figures, Skills, Freeskate and Dance. Tracey was named the top 20 Best of the Best CanSkate Coaches in Canada in 2009, COS Volunteer Coach for 2005, COS Club Coach for 2000, and is also sits on the coaches committee of the Skate Ontario Section. She lives in Orillia with her husband Jeff, her children Jayme and Thomas.
